Review: La Mer SPF 18 Fluid Tint and Powder

-La Mer- The SPF 18 Fluid Tint ($65)- A water-borne formula that absorbs instantly into the skin to provide broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Gemstones absorb light energy, transforming it into beneficial green light to enhance anti-oxidant activity. Photonic spheres redirect and diffuse light. Worn over Creme de la Mer, this acts as a generator, actually boosting efficacy. Brings a touch of color to the skin for a smooth, even finish. Available in Light, Medium and Dark. Medium is my match. This stuff isn’t nearly as creamy as creme de la mer, but rather liquid-y if that makes any sense. I pat a little on any red spots on my face and am good to go for the day. If I had $65 to spend on a tinted moisturizer, this would be the one.

-La Mer- The Powder ($65)- A luxurious finishing powder so light it appears to float. Developed with symmetrically shaped, uniquely coated particles, it magnetically attracts to the skin for a perfect fit. Airspun seaborne particles create an imperceptible finish that leaves skin looking flawless. Translucent coverage. Available in Translucent, Creme, Neutral, Beige and Bronze. The container that this comes in is ridiculously large. It won’t fit in your makeup bag unless you’re the Jolly-Green-Giant. It’s larger than a jar of body cream. I’m pretty sure you’ll never run out either (because a little bit goes a long way). I tried Translucent. There’s a bit of shimmer in this, but it basically disappears into your skin. Comes with a delightful little powder puff for application.
