You can make them last longer if you care for them properly and there are some great ways to make sure you’ll have that favorite dress for a very long time.

Tip #1 - don't wash your clothes every single time that you wear them
I know this may sound gross to some people, so I will say that you have to use common sense and good judgment here. If you wear something and you get a big glob of mustard on the front of it, of course you need to wash it right away. When I say you don't need to wash your clothes every time you wear them, I'm basically talking about things that you wear for only a couple of hours or so. Like in the case of jeans, don't washed them every time you wore them instead, try hanging your jeans or shirt that was worn only for a couple of hours out in the sun. They will get freshened up in a hurry, and you won't have to put them in the washing machine.

Tip #2 - treat STAINS immediately
Stains are one of the most common ways our clothing gets ruined. If you leave a stain until the day you do your laundry it has time to dry and set in and will be even harder to remove. If you wash a stained item improperly this can also set the stain in and putting a stained item in the clothes dryer is almost certain to ensure a permanent mark. Rinse out a stained item with water immediately after the stain occurs or as soon as possible. If the stain is a grease or protein stain you can treat it with a bit of dish soap. Hot and warm water can cause stains to set in so only use cold water until you are sure the stain is gone.

Tip #3 – prevent Shrinkage
Shrinkage is another common killer of clothes. Clothing that is made out of natural materials like cotton and wool can shrink in the clothes dryer quite quickly. Items like denim blue jeans will shrink a bit each time you dry them. Clothes dryers can also give clothes quite a beating if you dry them too long and too often. Air-drying your clothes is the best way to make them last longer. Using a fabric softener in the rinse cycle will help keep your clothes from getting stiff. You can dry your clothes outside or on an indoor folding rack that stores easily when you are through.

Tip #4 - Sew loose seams or small tears as soon as they occur.
If you have a small opening it can easily tear into a larger one that is either harder or impossible to fix. Replace lost buttons immediately or the item may end up in the bottom of the mending pile never to be seen again. It only takes a few minutes to sew up a loose seam or button and thread costs next to nothing.

Tip #5 – store it properly for the next season
When it’s time to put your clothes away for the season be sure to clean, iron, and fold them first. Always store your clothing in plastic tote boxes along with some cedar blocks to protect them from moisture and insects. Label the tote so you can easily locate your clothes when you need them. I was trying to buy the latest spec. computer, and david was looking at headphones.

It gave me a good opportunity to look at his hairstyle and hair colour in depth, and see just how David was changing his hairstyle yet again, in what has almost become an assault on hairdressing ever changing trends.

His hairstyle was the same as when he played for England against Brazil at the New Wembley Stadium, where England were unlucky to only get a draw out a game that stretched the South American opponents. David, who was recalled to the England squad, again gave an excellent display of effort and skill.

He had previously had a high lift hair colour achieved with a lightening system. His colour had started to grow out and he was wearing his hair very short, leaving only the ends holding and high lift colour. After the haircut to put a modern twist, two mixer tones, 0/28 & 0/88 from the Wella Perfect range, were used to give a kaki cast to the hair, this almost gave a grey look in some lighting conditions.

Kaki hair colours are used a little more at the moment, but make sure it is the right hair colour for either yourself or your client.

I would like to take this opportunity in thanking David for the manners he showed when, and I counted three different occasions, people came up to him to ask him questions, he gave everyone some time and a smile, there was no body guards, just David doing some shopping, he is certainly a credit to not only the England shirt, but to himself.

We even asked them to give special attention to why they consider us Nerds unfashionable.

Here are their hot 10 responses, ordered by frequency of occurrence. Some tips may surprise you - they surprised us!

1. Never wear socks with sandals
There are few things women hate more than this footwear choice. Ask any woman you can find - to them, wearing socks with sandals is an extremely heinous act.

2. Do NOT tuck in your shirt (unless at a formal event or when layering)
You may think tucking in your shirt looks ‘neater’, but women strongly disagree. ESPECIALLY when it comes to tucked in t-shirts.

3. Do NOT wear free or company t-shirts
Free t-shirts are great, but don’t wear them anywhere you actually hope to talk to girls.

4. Running shoes are for the gym ONLY
Simple rule: No running, no running shoes. Period. Yes, I’m talking about Nike, Reebok, or New Balance. Gone.

5. If it has a hole, tear or discoloration throw it out
It doesn’t matter how tiny the hole is - get rid of worn out clothing immediately! The ONE exception is jeans. This also applies to shoes.

6. Pants - no pleats or tapered legs
You’re not a rock star, so no tapered or tight-legged jeans.

7. No facial hair
Long story short, to be on the safe side, ditch the facial hair. Yes, some men can pull it off, you probably aren’t one of them.

8. Make sure nails are trimmed and clean
Who knew - women pay attention to a guy’s finger nails.

9. White socks are only worn during athletic activities
Gleaming, bright-white socks, worn beneath jet-black dress shoes. Even we have to admit that’s pretty ugly. If your socks come anywhere above your lower ankles, ditch the white.

10. Always wear a belt
Pants have belt-loops for a reason. Use them. You can’t go wrong with black or brown, but stay away from large, fancy buckles.
