I’m bossy. You probably didn’t know that about me.
For the past ten months, I’ve done a pretty damn good job of hiding my dictatorial demeanor. But sometimes, I feel so strongly about a product that a gentle suggestion just won’t suffice. So, at the risk of sounding like a despot, here goes my review of Moroccanoil .
I, Spoiled Pretty, command you, reader of Spoiled Pretty, to immediately purchase Moroccanoil hair care products. Heed this decree…for the use of Moroccanoil will, henceforth, transform your fried, lifeless locks into a mane of myth.
Moroccanoil Oil Treatment is a versatile hair product, made from the oil of the Argan tree. For centuries, Moroccan women have used this miracle oil to treat hair and nails, and to counteract the effects of the hot climate and aging.
In Philadelphia, we enlightened ladies like to treat our tresses to a little pre-shampoo Moroccanoil. Apply to hair (concentrating on ends) and cover with a shower cap for 30 minutes. If your hair is especially damaged, let hair marinate for a few hours or overnight. What kind of results can you expect? Moroccanoil’s many benefits include:
* Softens thick unmanageable hairRestores shine and softness to dull, limp hair
* Strengthens brittle hair
* Promotes healing and provides nourishment to hair damaged by coloring and styling
* Creates an optimal balance for the hair and scalp
* Nourishes the scalp (alleviates itchy, dry scalp)
* Protects against UV damage and other environmental factors
* Reduces drying time and speeds up styling time
Moroccanoil’s weightless non-greasy formula seals in shine, is perfect for all hair types, and won’t cause build-up on the hair. And the product is stored in an amber glass bottle to protect the oil from UV rays that cause oxidation and degradation.
You will notice a dramatic improvement in the feel and look of your hair after just one use. After introducing my mom to the line, she couldn’t stop raving about how Moroccanoil added softness and shine to her overprocessed hair. My mother doesn’t give compliments freely, so this endorsement was majah!

If you really want to go for the gusto, use Moroccanoil in tandem with the line’s other products.
The Masque is a rich, creamy conditioner, designed to hydrate and repair damaged hair. The Hydrating Styling Cream is a leave-in treatment that eliminates frizz, adds definition, and brilliant shine, while the pure argan oil conditions and hydrates the hair. And the Intense Curl Cream is used to enhance and define curly hair; repeated use will result in extraordinary hold, shine and protection.

HydraMe is a brand dedicated to providing skin nutrition through moisturization and some all natural ingredient products.
Recently, I got to try out their Lip Balm, Lipz. As someone obsessed with lip products, summer is a very difficult time as often the heat and humidity make it difficult as there are so many challenges - you want to use SPF, not dry out your lips, prevent lipstick caking, etc.
To Purr About:
- almost no fragrance at all to this lip balm - there is a scent, but it’s extremely light and wouldn’t compete at all with any other scents you would wear
- lip balm glides on easily
- convenient stick packaging
- light and non-sticky
- hydrated my lips very well - I definiitely noticed smoother, softer lips
- good staying power
Claws Out:
- wish I could buy it at a local store rather than having to order online
Final Comments:
This lip balm is great! It works really well and is light and smooth.

You know how primer creates a perfect canvas for foundation application, by filling in fine lines and pores? Well, what would you say if I told you that I found a product that does the same thing for your hair? Get out, you say?!?! No, you get out!
Porosity , a leave-in spray by White Sands, is marketed as “makeup for hair.” The product acts as a concealer, filling in the blemishes found in each hair strand transforming dry, damaged locks into “illuminating, flawless hair.”
But does it work? As per the instructions, I have been lightly spraying on my towel-dried hair, after shampooing and conditioning. After blow-drying an styling my hair, I noticed a marked improvement in the appearance of my hair. It had a nice gloss to it, and my ends didn’t seem as damaged. My hair felt healthier too…softer and silkier. Porosity made my highlights more brilliant and added a lovely, light fragrance to my hair.
Porosity even improves the effectiveness and performance of chemical and other salon services. From correcting blonde tones to increasing hair color performance, Porosity can also be used to:
• Bleach Highlights: If added to the mixture, Porosity speeds up the processing time and allows the bleach to achieve optimum performance levels. This results in even tones. Immediately eliminate blotchy blondes and bleeding at the scalp since Porosity moistens the bleach while lifting.
• Color Processing: If added to your color, it enhances the tone of your color and creates ultimate shine.
• Pre-Wrap for Perms: If applied before a perm, it equalizes each strand’s porosity and achieves a consistent curl pattern from end to end. Instantly achieve incredible waves on all hair types.
Porosity is available at whitesandsproducts.com .

Refreshing and cooling, these foot wipes are said to be specially formulated with tea tree oil and natural mint to clean and revive tired, overworked feet. Sized for convenience and portability in a resealable pouch, these wipes can be used anytime, anywhere to bring a spring to your step.
Although most people would find this an odd product at first glance, I immediately thought of my trip to London, England. I was there a couple of years ago in the middle of an extremely bad heat wave and I spent my week exploring the city in flip-flops. I love, love, LOVE London, but there’s something in the air that can’t only be described as “grimy”. And in that heat, my feet were almost black on the soles by the end of the day (yuck!) So these foot wipes would definitely have come in VERY handy!
So to put these to the test, I used them yesterday. It was Toronto’s first hot day of the year (nearly 37 degrees Celcius with the humidity) and I spent 5 hours playing 18 rounds of golf, so my feet were sweaty and sticky and HOT. I used these wipes and then slipped my feet into ballet slipper shoes.
To Purr About:
- resealable pouch is very convenient and handy, it’s just like a packet of tissue
- light tea tree/mint scent is pleasant
- instantly cooled my feet down and got rid of all the sweat
- after a quick wipe-down my feet were ready to go
- although the wipe is wet, feet dried quickly and there was no wait time
Claws Out:
- pouch is a little big to tuck into a purse unless you’re carrying a large tote around
- some people may find the scent a little “off” - it’s not quite minty, slightly medicinal
Final Comments:
These little wipes were really great. After a day of sweating it out in the sun, wearing socks and golf shoes, a quick wipe with these little sheets cleaned, cooled and did “renew” my feet instantly. I was able to slip into sandals right away and didn’t feel at all like I had been in sweaty socks a few minutes before.
