Clarisonic Skin Care Brush
This holiday season, the Clarisonic brush was the hottest beauty commodity. Oprah mentioned it as one of her favorite things and then the shelves cleared out. But, I have to admit, it wasn’t Lady O who first sang the praises of this brush. It was my girl Johnica , one of my first beauty blogging friends and the first that I actually knew in real life before the blog. She loved this brush almost a year and a half ago. Can we say way ahead of the curve?
Clarisonic is made by the same people who brought us the Sonicare Toothbrush, which I used from age 12 until about a few months ago when it finally died on me. The brush uses sonic waves to vibrate the bristles and clean your face deep down. The beauty of this brush is not just the vibrations or the extra clean feeling your skin has. It’s the little extras that make it special. Unlike other face brushes that only work with that brand’s cleanser, you can use anything with the Clarisonic. Just wet your face, smooth on your normal cleanser, and away you go. And, the brush also comes with two brush heads, two pressure settings and two timing options. It emits a subtle beep to let you know to move on to the next section of your face. I’ve already noticed that my chin and nose area which tend to get milia are cleared up from the extra exfoliation. My skin has never been softer or smoother.
$195, available at Clarisonic.com
Forget about boring old Hollywood and stay ahead of the curve on your own, but just don’t forget that Ms. New Beauty told you!

Do not let your eyes go unnoticed. Apply mascara the simple way, look your best and leave others stunned!
Bijal Soni, make-up artist for Christian Dior says, “Mascara defines your lashes and highlights the shape of your eyes. Not only does mascara accentuate the shape of your eyes but also transforms your look from catty to innocent.”
Eye Catcher
Mascara can enhance or diminish your look if not applied properly. Follow these easy-to-apply tips.
Step 1: Always apply mascara after applying eye shadow and the liner. Remove excess eye shadow powder droppings with a cotton bud. For small or lesser lashes use a protein primer before applying mascara.
Step 2: With an eyelash curler, curl lashes upwards and then while looking towards the floor apply mascara in upward sweeps. Let dry and after a couple of minutes put another application if needed.
Aishwarya BachchanThe Curl Effect
Add curl to your eyelashes with a parallel-looking brush. This is the medium brush, which gives a curling and volumizing effect.
Step 3: To avoid the lashes from sticking together – gently move the brush in a zig-zag motion to separate the lashes. Or use an eyelash comb to separate the lashes. However Dior Diorshow Mascara includes a feature where the brush is designed specifically to separate the lashes.
Step 4: Apply mascara on the lower lashes as well, but not as intense – just a light brush will do. Move the brush from the base to the tip.

A late 1940’s tartan nylon taffeta full skirted party gown by Jay Jackson. The dress is not lined and fastens at the back with a metal zipper.

BURBERRY PRORSUM:

This season, Christopher Bailey focused on proportion. He balanced a short silhouette over long legs in high platforms (ahhhh!!! platforms!! love them!!!). Coats curved at the hem. He worked in his great pieces with boyish jackets in menswear fabrics.
“As the collection segued to the luxury end, the handcrafted coats became ever more complex and textured: in multi-pleated, knotted strips of organza; pieces of fox fur cut out and re-appliquéd; piled-up shredded leaves of chiffon. Accomplished as these were, though, it was the more pragmatic, younger end of the collection that recaptured some of the freshness the collection has been missing in the past couple of seasons.”

Marni:
Not much going on here. There were great colors and classic Marni looks (capes, cropped pants, loose tunics). Overall…safe. You can’t really critique the classics. I did love the accessories…mainly the shoes! These are shoes that I can see myself wearing (had I the money!)
