Today almost everybody complains from hair loss. Maybe so do you. But are you sure that you’ve removed all the reasons for hair loss? In order to be sure you should read all the list of main reasons:
1. You don’t wash your hair as soon as it becomes muddy. The muddy hair cannot breathe. Therefore sometimes hair loss begins.
2. You comb you hair while it’s wet yet. If you noticed wet hair is hardly combed. And as a result of it its structure is damaged. You should comb your hair only when it’s quite damp.
3. You wash your hair too often, even when it’s not necessary. As a result of washing too often, hair becomes dull and thinner. Because it loses most of its nutrients while washing process.
4. You often use a drier. Hair begins shedding, but also loses its health and natural shine.
5. You do not use the suitable shampoo for your hair. Today it’s very difficult to choose the right shampoo among numerous popular brands. But the famous and expensive don’t always mean the best. Before buying any hair remedies I recommend to read the following article that I’ll post tomorrow. I hope it may be useful for you.
6. You have just been operated or taken a lot of chemicals. After both of these events begins hair loss as a result of chemical poisoning of the organism. In this period your ration must be very rich in vitamins (especially A, B, C, D, E), minerals, microelements. You’d better drink fresh-squeezed fruit and vegetable juices (especially apple, carrot, cucumber etc.). You can drink them together in equal proportion. And of course, the second thing you should do is to make masks for external nutrition of hair. It’s recommended to wash hair with natural homemade shampoo for a while (see the receipt in my next articles).
7. You have anemia. The lack of iron and vitamins also causes hair loss. In this case besides treatment with natural hair remedies, you need also eat food rich in iron. I especially recommend you to drink fresh-squeezed apple juice and eat various salads, nuts, more fish, etc. Fish is very rich in vitamins A, E. Or you can consult with your doctor and take some multivitamin tablets. But I recommend you to choose the natural way.
8. You often dye or perm your hair. Regular coloring or perm damage hair and it begins to fade, becomes thinner and dull. Therefore such hair usually doesn’t seem healthy. Such hair needs special care most of all. You should make natural masks to nourish your hair. I recommend you to use natural homemade shampoo.
9. You “trick” your hair only with remedies you buy from stores. Don’t forget that the best shampoos, masks and conditioners that you buy from shops are not enough for health of your hair, especially if it is damaged. Because almost all these remedies contain chemicals thanks to which we could keep them for a long time. But true natural remedies can be usually kept for a week maximum. You’d better use homemade shampoos and conditioners minimum 3-4 months a year if you want to have healthy and bright hair with natural shine. (see the receipt in my next articles). You can also find such chemical free homemade shampoos at the natural shampoo section of natures brands store.
10. You eat much salt or sugar.
Everything is useful in necessary dose. Consuming much salt and sugar also causes hair loss. You should reduce them in your ration; especially restrict pickles, cakes and sweets.
Homemade masks for hair loss
Mix coconut oil + mustard oil + castor oil in equal quantities. Apply on the scalp and massage gently. Leave overnight. Shampoo in the morning. It’s a good treatment for hair loss (at least once a week).
Home remedy for deep conditioning damaged hair (from perms, coloring or using a drier)
1 cup real mayonnaise (room temperature) + ½ cup olive oil + 3 egg yolks. Mix all in a bowl. Apply thoroughly on your scalp and hair. Cover with plastic cap, then with a hot towel. Keep at least 30 min and then rinse out. Do not shampoo afterwards, just rinse well. Do it when you are not going to go out.

Alberta Ferretti
Usually I just skim pass Alerta Ferretti, because the styles are always so similar. Very delicate, feminine and girly.
But this time, when I glanced at the first shots, I was surprised to find them to be Jill Sander-esque minimalistic! Albeit in a more styled and flattering way. The jeweled tones of blue and green were also refreshing to see on a FW runway.
On the other extreme, they also have printed dresses fashioned in a more flowing and draping material, reminiscent of the past seasons.
Example of the two extremes. The flowy, girly, delicate design and the more structured prim look. I want them both!
The cocktail dresses were a pleasant mixture of the more structured elements and the more feminine styles i.e. flowing pleated skirts.
I thought there was more variety in the evening wear as well. For example, this one on the left looks like they hired Laure Bennet from Project Runway to do it. I’m not much for feathers, but this is not too bad. The one on the right on the other hand is more structured and somehow reminds me a little of the pieces Zac Posen did a few seasons back. Still, very gorgeous and elegant.
Burberry Prorsum
This season, Bailey definitely went for a different direction. This collection is more fun, wearable and relaxed- and I LOVE it.
Don’t you just love these chilled, wearable yet incredibly stylish looks?
The big overcoat is genius. And those huge chunky jeweled necklaces are TO DIE FOR. I bet they are going to be sold out, HUGE hits next season.
A little reminiscent of the cute shift dresses from last season. These are adorable.
The subtly vibrant hues are gorgeous. Though I’m not too sure what to make of what I THINK is the scarf detail….
LOVE LOVE LOVE gold dress here. I’m positive we will be seeing a LOT of celebs wearing this soon enough! And as for the feathered confection on the right….she looks like a bird. No matter how they put it, feather is simply NOT my thing!

Ruben Toledo and Ruven Afandor worked hand in hand to make this beautiful spring ad campaign for Nordstrom. Toledo painted 20-by-30 foot walls to serve as a backdrop for the models. He even painted on the models for the campaign. The result is an artistic and stylish eye-candy.
The campaign featuring Lily Cole, Jenny Sweeny and Kiera Gormley will hit magazines (Elle, Vanity Fair and Vogue) in the March issues.

I still can’t stop listening to Adele’s album. I think everyone needs her in their lives, she’s utterly amazing and the fact that she’s only 19 adds to her awesome factor. I will be listening to it on my next outing, which was supposed to be Monday night, but it got rained out. Hopefully tonight will be better.

^yes the photo is a bit too hot but I love the texture of the jacket.

After a Winter of torrential rain, flooding, below average temperatures, and ice, we’re finally experiencing some lovely weather in the Pacific Northwest. Even though it’s February, it’s sunny and slightly warm out, and it has me longing for Spring. I’m not alone in my desire for a new season: the good folks at Sephora have launched their Spring campaign–Beauty As Art–and are featuring several new looks to inspire us.
And of course I have my own opinions on the matter!
Here are Sephora’s looks for the Spring. I’ll first give you what they have to say about each look and then I’ll throw in my thoughts for good measure!
Renaissance Glow: “Spring’s freshest runway looks conjured up Botticelli’s famous Birth of Venus painting—fresh skin, nude lips, and glowing cheeks epitomize today’s modern Madonna. Score the look with some of spring’s most exciting new products—Hourglass’ gorgeously addictive foundation (our creative director is hooked), Stila’s brilliantly strategic contouring kits (hello, cheekbones), Benefit’s super-fresh Thrrrob powder, and NARS’ new nude gloss which—thanks to a touch of apricot—is wearable on every skintone.”
My take: I love this look. This “less is more” approach makes your skin the focus, and the nude tones are flattering for everyone. Plus it’s easy to do and is appropriate for almost any occasion.
Neoclassic Beauty: “Look neo-classy in spring’s boisterous spin on glamour. When it comes to shadow, gold is the new beige. It’s the light, sparkly, warm-weather neutral that works day to night. We love smudging it on a little imperfectly; the refined texture of this season’s luxe cream and powder shadows made even a purposely-sloppy application look gorgeous. Add a succulent coral pucker—matte or shiny, whichever you prefer—and you’ve got the most classic look of the season.”
My take: I love this one too! This is a more done up version of the Renaissance look. It allows for mistakes, and the sooner we learn that perfection and beauty are two entirely different things, the better off we’ll be.
Pop Art Makeup: “At the fashion shows, makeup artists experimented with live-wire colors in shocking combos like orange and purple, Kelly green and red, and spots of bright blue just about everywhere (even on the lips!). The trick to wearing lots of vibrant colors at once is to make sure the undertones match. And, try using the color in an unexpected place—a flash on your lashes (ahem, Longo’s brilliant new mascaras), or, Make Up For Ever’s Flash Color in Pale Blue 20 as eye liner.”
My take: No. No. No. Unless you’re posing for a Warhol painting, are an actress portraying a crazy character, or are a drag queen, this is not a good look. It’s too much…too colorful, to theatrical, too out there for an everyday look. Some people may be able to pull off this look, but unless you’re very skilled at makeup application and have the confidence to really rock this look, you’ll just end up looking foolish. Sorry!
Sephora also wants you to update your lashes, eyes, and lips this season and make them works of art as well. I’ll give you the skinny on that tomorrow! But until then, what look do you like best from Sephora’s Spring campaign? Leave a comment and let me know!
