A long, long time ago, there was a hot blonde babe making a big splash as the starlet of the moment in 1944’s “Gaslight.”
And she’s still hot! You might know her better as Jessica Fletcher in “Murder, She Wrote.” It’s 82-year-old Angela Lansbury, bitches, shopping in Santa Monica.

We are in awe of this 1950’s strapless number in gold, no less. It’s available from VFG member Tasty Vintage.
Just amazing, this dress is beautifully constructed with a handset zipper, bound seams and handstitched silk lining. the fabric also feels like a silk blend - there are no labels other than the one referring to the fabric (handwoven in Madrid) but you get the feeling that this is a dress that was very expensive when originally ordered!
It zips at the rear with a concealed metal zip, and the peplum fastens around the waist with hooks and eyes. You could move the hooks if needed to give you a little extra room without it looking odd. The peplum itself is actually quite a thing to behold, stiffened fabric and lined in a silky green fabric. It’s just wonderful, and quite futuristic looking!

Everyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love Victoria’s Secret. Everytime I go in a store, I walk out with a bag! I’m also a big fan of the models. They are always so gorgeous! Everyone who knows me also knows that other than loving fashion…I love modeling and secretly (well not so secretly since I proclaim it at least once a week) want to be a model. I feel that if I’m 5′9″ and small in frame- I should be a model (but getting discovered is tough business!).
But anywhoo…one thing about New York Fashion Week is all of the little (or not so little) side events happening at various stores. First, I attended the Lancôme event for Christopher Kane Juicy Tube. And on Thursday Feb. 7 I got to meet 3 of the Victoria’s Secret Supermodels! I personally love Alessandra Ambrosio but she was not in attendence.
Karolina Kurkova, Selita Ebanks, and Isabel Goulart were all at the Victoria’s Secret store on 34th Street signing copies of this month’s Esquire magazine (they’re all on the cover).
What I like most was:
a) I wasn’t far in line!
b) Karolina is super nice and made convo with every person whose copy she signed
c) Isabel said she loved my bag (which was actually the VS Beauty bag I bought during the Semi Annual sale)
d) Selita Ebanks is stunningly gorgeous and so gracious and humble. People can be really rude…some people were grabbing their magazine before she signed it and she was cool about it. I find that disgustingly rude and nasty. But when I got to her I kinda froze (she’s my 2nd fave) and blurted out “I love you…you’re the greatest” and she looked genuinely happy and said “Aww thank you” and then said “I hope I make you proud in this issue”. How nice is that?!!?!
I was told no picture taking but managed to sneak this one of Selita. Don’t tell me to not do something ‘cuz then I’ll do my best to do it (I have a passive aggressive personality).

The cover:

But yeah other then learning that I’m a total spaz…I loved being there and was stoked about meeting them!

Ok so last December I was in search for the perfect red- lips that is. I was so obsessed and then I found it. But now I am in search of the perfect shade of red…nails. I know it sounds so horrible but I used to shy away from red nail polish only because it reminded me of my mom. And not in that glamourous way when you reminisce about how beautiful she looked but in the “eww thats soo old” way. Maybe it’s just me but I tend to think of little old ladies walking around in red lips and nails all smeared and ugly looking…{shudders}
But now..I think I’m done this search too (well, I’m never done persay but I’m s tisfied for now). I recently fell in love with N.Y.C Nail Glossies in 223.

This is just the cutest shade of red and it doesn’t give me that I feel like an old woman vibe. The shade lasts pretty long on my toes but chips away on my fingers- but this is due to my own negligence/ laziness because I tend to just not put on my top coat.
Overall this shade gets two perfectly manicured thumbs up!
