Y-3 Fall 2008 Ready-to-Wear »

For the men, these are some of the Fall 2008 RTW collection from Y-3. I think they look great, urban yet classy. Some of the clothes here can be worn in both casual and formal occasions, right?

Abusing the socks with shoes »

So I have a dillema with the H&M that FINALLY opened here in Las Vegas. They seem to stock every single thing in existance, until it comes to women’s socks. Do other stores even have them? Or is it just ours with a burning desire to keep our feet cold? My solution though, consisted of going into the children’s department and buying the largest size girls socks. Take that H&M. Now I got a multipack of kids socks, that you’d probably charge twice as much if they were in the womens.

Onto the point. Now that I have all these new socks, I want to wear them with everything, and I want to show them off. So at any opportunity, I will let them breathe. I know I complained about wearing drab colors, but here I go again wearing a lot of grey. I can’t explain how much in love I am with heather grey, or my obsession with American Apparels tri blend . So forgive me.

Sweater: flea market find $2
Shirt: Target exercise brand $4
Denim: royal blue Cheap Mondays $70
Socks: (in grey!!) H&M five pack $7
Shoes: Fornarina heels

So my color here was the green shoes and the blue jeans.

Product Review: E.L.F. Brightening Eye Colour »

Reviewer: Cinnamon Kitten

Brand: E.L.F.
Name: Brightening Eye Colour
Size: 0.17 oz / 48 g
Approx. Price: $1 USD

Shades Tried:
- Silver Lining

I decided to try this eyeshadow after my eyeshadow ran out. The colours looked really nice and were similar to the shades I was already wearing, so I figured that it couldn’t be that bad.

The packaging promises:
- light reflecting shades
- crease-resistant and long-wearing
- easy blending colour
- hypo-allergenic

To Purr About:
- the colours really compliment each other and I could use very little for a daytime look, but easily blend the darker shades for a nightime look
- long-lasting and crease-resistant
- great colour combo - I use all 4 shades in this palette
- easy double-ended applicator is very convenient
- tiny mirror (under appplicator) is good for emergency touch-ups
- as with most E.L.F. products - you can’t beat the price!

Claws Out:

- the product turns to loose powder really easily and I find that they powders mixes in with all the other shades
- some inconsistency - I finished one palette and bought another and have found the purple shade isn’t as vibrant as the first palette I bought, even though it’s the same colour

Final Comments:
I do like all 4 shades in this palette and find that they really work well together. Although the palette is kind of small, it’s only $1, so I guess I can’t complain too much! I’m hoping that the lighter purple shade is just a bad batch and the next one I buy is back to the vibrant colour I got from the first one.

Anna Sui Fall 2008 Ready-to-Wear »

These are Anna Sui’s Fall 2008 RTW collection. Ann Sui has been busy, judging from the amount of designs she did for this season. They look pretty ethnic-inspired to me, some remind me of Tibetan clothing, although I’ve seen national costumes of a country from Europe (forgot which!) that are similar in one way or the other.

The Lemon Helps To Lose Weight And Stay Slim »

Because of the badly working digestive system, the organism is not able to absorb all the necessary nutrients for fat burning. So, toxins accumulate in the body, cause fatigue and slow down the metabolism. Also, a lack of nutrients in organism make us feel a sense of constant hunger, and here we very often have snacks, biscuits and other “easy” meals.

The main property of lemon is the lead-out of toxins from the body, and the normalization of metabolism. Citric acid interact with enzymes and other acids, stimulating digestion and the provision of gastric liquids. With its high acidity (7 - 8% in fruit), even a small piece of lemon can positively influence the process of food digestin, and reduce the risks of raising the sugar level in the blood.

Another lemon miracle is the pectin. This substance is contained in the lemon’s exterior layer. When reaching the stomach, pectin turns into a creamy gel and cover the stomach walls. According to earlier studies, the use of pectin in food can dampen the sense of hunger about 4 hours.

The Lemon juice contains a big amount of vitamin C. This vitamin contributes to the mobilization of protective body, combats coldness, improves the metabolism and as a consequence - the weight loss.

The advantage a lemon diet is that it is not necessarily to starve or give up favorite meals. All you have to do for loosing weight - include several spoons of lemon juice and pulp in the daily diet. And of course the situation will improve with exercise and healthy eating.

It is also advised to consume more water, at least 6-8 cups a day. The morning is better to start with a mix of warm water with the addition of lemon juice.

But drinking coffee and tea should be avoided, as well as carbonated drinks and unnatural juices. The base should be on the diet with fruits and vegetables - about five servings per day. In soups and salads add a little dried lemon peel, and the fish and meat can be flavored with lemon juice.

Avoid products with high sugar content: bread, rice and potatoes. If consumed large quantities of such products, coupled with fruits - this may badly affect the level of sugar in blood. Fat saturated products are also not desirable. Remember that they are contained in large quantities in red meat, cakes and pies. And do not forget that unsaturated fats are necessary for weight loss. They delay the influx of carbohydrates in the blood, and thereby contribute to keeping the low body insulin and sugar.

Eating should be slowly, carefully chewing the food. The process of chewing relaxes the muscle below abdomen and transmits a nerve signal activating the digestive processes. Eat at the scheduled time and not rush the process to bring a sense of saturation, which may be delayed. It is rational to wait 20 minutes to make sure of feeling saturation.

Beauty Product of the Week: Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream »

What is it? Caudalie’s Hand and Nail Cream is, “A cream for those who want a nourishing, antiaging treatment for hands and nails. Protects the skin against aging as it hydrates, soothes, and nourishes. Nails are strengthened and invigorated without a greasy film. Infused with a sweet orange fragrance, this cream is highly concentrated in patented antioxidant grapevine polyphenols and Vinolevure.” Available at Sephora for $19 for 2.5 ounces.

What did you think? I got this as part of a Caudalie gift set from my husband for Christmas, so I had no idea it cost $20 until just now! That’s pretty steep for hand cream! That said, I love this stuff. I use it every night before I go to bed and it leaves my hands feeling smooth and soft.

I used to work at a winery so I have a fondness for the scent of fermenting grapes. Since Caudalie products contain wine-derived products, this hand cream has a slightly wine-y aroma. I love it–it’s a scent that relaxes me for some reason.

The other day I used a different hand cream at work and was shocked at how greasy that hand cream was. The Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream that I have now become so used to does not leave behind a thick layer of grease like other creams. Instead it just feels nourishing and healing, and I look forward to my nightly routine of applying it.

The final verdict? It may be spendy, but this sure is a nice product. If you just can’t bring yourself to splurge that much, consider picking up this hand cream for a gift. You’re recipient will love it. But really, be good to yourself…you ARE worth a $20 hand cream if it will make you happy!
